Many things have changed since today’s parents graduated high school. In addition to college or the military, good paying jobs are available by achieving certificates or completing an apprenticeship. Come to learn about ALL the options available to young people graduating high school in the next few years, including their personal finances. College students are also welcome to attend to learn about student loan repayment, scholarships and more.
BND and partners bring you the Launch Party in Cass County. This is a one-night stop to help parents understand the financial considerations for their child’s life after high school. It’s being held on Thursday, September 5, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for parents and guardians of Cass County high school students, and their students if they choose to come along.
Whether your child is heading straight to a career, into the military or some type of education beyond high school, you don’t want to miss this free event. You’ll learn more about what your child needs to think about when it comes to money by visiting booths and moving from table-to-table in a speed-dating style format. Experts will discuss topics including scholarship resources and applications, FAFSA, internships, apprenticeships, military careers, financial literacy and financing college. The conversation is casual and meets your personal needs.
In addition, this year discussion tables and booths will expand to include financial information for college students, who can attend to learn about topics such as student loan repayment, scholarships and more.
Registration for prizes is open to parents and guardians, as well as college students. Must be registered and present to win. High school students are welcome to attend with you if you’d like to bring them along.
